Will the healthcare bill hurt the fight against opioids?

North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper thinks the Senate healthcare bill will hurt the fight against opioid addiction.

From the News & Observer:

"Speaking at the state’s annual Opioid Misuse and Prevention Summit at N.C. State University, Cooper said he spoke out about the importance of health care in fighting drug addiction with fellow members of President Donald Trump’s new Commission To Fight Opioid Abuse. The Congressional Budget Office predicts that the Senate Republican plan to replace the Affordable Care Act would raise the number of people without insurance by 22 million over the next decade."

Shouldn’t Roy scooper create money from the state to put towards this issue? Insurances choose what they want to cover. The state do ant get to choose that. Cmon people… this is political fodder.

Have you ever seen a documentary about the North Carolina Medicaid-type addiction clinics versus the paid-for addiction clinics with fully paid staff that last 3 months, followed by 6-8 months of a halfway house, followed by another 6-8 months of a 3/4 house? The true addicts that have been through the system and have recovered and are helping others KNOW the path and how much it costs. I’d like to know what happens in these Medicaid addiction centers…. shots of Narcan? Send you in your way? Or are they focused on helpining to overcome the disease of the addiction?

I do volunteer work which includes victims of opioid abuse. This bill seems to be designed to euthanize them. Our current government is so cruel and corrupt. I don’t know what the citizens of NC and the United States can do when. The Electoral College prevents the majority pick our leader. I think it should be illegal for a past “bought and paid for” governor to ruin things for a decent and intelligent current governor.
