Today the North Carolina Coalition for Fiscal Health is excited to announce that we are launching our first ever podcast, “The Cost of Health.” In this series, we push past the numbers and statistics to talk to real people and businesses about the actual impact on their lives of rising health care costs.
In our first few episodes, you will hear from
- A farmer in Goldsboro who was forced to make a painful choice to qualify for an insurance subsidy.
- An entrepreneur in Marion who couldn’t afford insurance, so he found a way to afford to not have insurance.
- A doctor in Winston-Salem whose patients are forced to choose every month whether to buy their medication, or food for their children.
We will also speak with some of the people in our state tasked with the job of solving this crisis including legislators and leaders in the insurance industry.
We are always looking for more stories about the fiscal burden of health care on individuals, families and businesses. If you have a story to share, please reach out to me at [email protected] or on Twitter at @michaelck.
